Little Crake

Today I visited the Little Crake that has been reported for a while now in Flevoland. The pattern that emerged in the sighting is that it is either seen early in the morning or at the end of the day. I opt for the late shift and arrive around 16:30 in the (very) small birding hut. No crake in sight, just a lot of geese, a few Beared Tits and some Water Rails. People come and go, but no crake… is the bird gone? But then at 17:50 I notice the bird appearing from the reed and it starts to move along the edge of the reed and starts to feed: the Little Crake is in the pocket!
